Guided Coastal Journeys for Seniors in Kerry

We're lanfear Ltd, and we've been creating meaningful walking experiences through Dingle's harbour village and craft shops since 2019. Small groups, accessible routes, and authentic local stories — that's what we do.

Our Foundation

How It Started

Lanfear Ltd began with a simple observation — seniors wanted to explore Dingle's character without rushing or struggling with long distances. We saw a gap.

When we launched in 2019, we weren't trying to be a big operation. We wanted to create walks that actually suited people over 60 — routes that included time to browse craft shops, rest on benches overlooking the marina, and chat with local shopkeepers who've got real stories to tell. That's still our approach.

The harbour village isn't just scenery. It's a living community with artisans, family-run businesses, and centuries of maritime history. We've trained our guides to know the neighbourhood properly — not just the tourist highlights. They can tell you why a particular shop opened there, which artists still work in the back rooms, and which cafés have the best views.

Lanfear Ltd has grown slowly. We've kept groups small (maximum 8 people per walk) because that's when real conversations happen. We've added more routes — Green Street market days, the quieter waterfront loop, the local artisans route — but the core idea hasn't changed. We're here to help seniors experience Dingle the way they want to, not the way tour companies think they should.

What We Specialize In

Four Distinct Walking Routes

Each walk has been designed around what matters to our guests — accessibility, pacing, and authentic local connection.

Quiet Harbour Loop

A gentle waterfront circuit with five rest points, views across Dingle Bay, and stops at working fishing docks where locals explain their trade.

Green Street Market Discovery

Curated craft markets with handmade textiles, pottery, and jewellery. We've partnered with vendors to arrange behind-the-scenes conversations with makers.

Local Artisans Route

Smaller galleries and workshop studios where you'll meet working artists directly. Shorter walk, higher engagement with the creative community.

Waterfront to Dunmore Head

Extended coastal views with optional stop at Dunmore Head lighthouse. Fully paced with café breaks and historical context throughout.

How We Work

Our Guiding Philosophy

Lanfear Ltd doesn't rush. We've built our walks around realistic pacing and genuine interaction.

1

Small Groups Only

We cap every walk at 8 participants. That means your guide can hear questions, adjust pace if someone needs a longer break, and have real conversations instead of broadcasting information.

2

Trained Local Guides

Our guides live in or near Dingle. They're not reading from a script. They know the shop owners, understand the tides and weather patterns, and can adapt routes based on conditions and group energy.

3

Built-In Rest and Connection

We're not counting kilometers. We're looking for moments — sitting on a bench watching boats, listening to an artist talk about their work, grabbing tea at a local café. The walk exists to create these moments.

4

Flexible and Responsive

Tired? We adjust. Fascinated by something? We spend more time there. Mobility concerns? We have alternative routes and shortened versions of every walk available.

What We Stand For

Why This Matters

We believe walking tours shouldn't feel like work. Seniors deserve experiences designed around their actual needs — not assumptions about what older people want.

Authentic Connection

We're not selling you a packaged "Irish experience." We're introducing you to real people, real shops, real stories. You'll meet artisans who've been working the same craft for 20+ years. You'll learn why the harbour matters to this community.

True Accessibility

Accessible means more than ramps. It means no judgment about pace, breaks that feel natural rather than obligatory, and routes that work for different mobility levels. We've got options.

Community Support

When you book with lanfear Ltd, the money stays local. We partner with family shops, local cafés, and independent artisans. Your walk directly supports Dingle's economy and helps keep these businesses thriving.

Quality Over Volume

We've been intentionally small since 2019. We won't scale up if it means losing what makes us different — the personal attention, the flexibility, the genuine relationships with local guides and shopkeepers.
